The Southern University Alumni Federation Washington, DC Chapter invites you to join us for Southern Summer Sizzle, our signature summer cookout and crawfish boil. This highly anticipated event brings together alumni, friends, and supporters from across the DMV for an afternoon of great food, music, fellowship, and authentic Southern hospitality.
At the heart of the celebration is our traditional Louisiana style crawfish boil. Guests can expect to enjoy crawfish boiled by Louisiana natives along with all the classic fixings and other great Southern dishes with the purchase of their ticket. Whether you are a proud Jaguar, an HBCU supporter, or simply someone who enjoys great food and great vibes, Southern Summer Sizzle is the perfect way to kick off the summer.
In addition to being a fun and family friendly gathering, the event also serves as a fundraiser that helps support the chapter’s operations, scholarship initiatives, and continued efforts to uplift the community.
Chapter T‑shirts are available for purchase through CustomInk. Two color options are offered, and shirts can be mailed directly to purchasers for a $9.95 shipping fee. The final day to place an order was May 8, 2026, and all shirts will be delivered during the week of May 25, 2026.
