Ways to Support

  • A Fundraising Captain is a SUAF-WDC Chapter member or friend of the chapter who raises a minimum of $550 for the SUAF-WDC Chapter during the fiscal year to support the chapter's operations and scholarship funds. Complete the “Get Involved” form HERE to start your journey towards becoming a Captain and unleash a host of exclusive benefits!

  • Fundraising Captains are on a mission to raise of minimum $550 to support the mission and vision of the SUAF-WDC Chapter. You can support a Captain by becoming a sponsor and/or making a monetary or in-kind donation. Captains also sell items at various points during the year, including ads for the Mardi Gras Ball Digital Souvenir Journal. Learn more HERE.

  • We gladly welcome the opportunity for small and large businesses, individuals, and families to partner with us on activating our mission through sponsorship of our signature events, including the annual Mardi Gras Ball and the Southern Summer Sizzle (Cookout) event.   • Donations to the general fund are unrestricted and may be used to support a host of activities, initiatives, and operations carried out by the SUAF-WDC Chapter to ensure we remain an active, vibrant, and elite alumni chapter.   • Raising funds to administer scholarships to students is part of our central mission as an organization. Each year we award scholarships to incoming and continuing students at Southern University and A&M College. Join us in contributing to the scholarship fund to help us make attending college just a little bit more affordable for our students. Learn more about the scholarships we award HERE.

  • On February 10, 2018, during former SUAF-WDC Chapter President Mr. Vincent Brown’s administration, the DC Chapter established a $25,000 endowed scholarship fund called the Southern University Alumni Federation, Washington, DC Chapter Endowed Scholarship Fund of Higher Education. Upon Vincent’s passing on July 25, 2022, the chapter renamed the scholarship to the Vincent M. Brown Washington DC Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship in recognition of our beloved former leader. Recently, the endowment reached its second goal of $50,000! Click HERE to contribute to the endowed scholarship fund.
